Rules & Guidelines for Ice Artists!

SCHEDULE AND RULES:

  1. REGISTRATION - Thursday, DEC 1, 6PM-8PM - $75.00 fee
    1. LOCATION: Christmas in Ice park located next to Santa Claus House (old Santaland RV Park office)
    2. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: You are required to bring a concept sketch of the piece, orientation of ice, and your biography at the time of registration
    3. DEC 1 REGISTRATIONS will have the opportunity to reserve your site.  There will be a drawing at 8pm with all the carvers who have paid that night. You will be able to choose your site as your name is drawn.  The ice will be located on the sites. If you cannot be present at 8pm, please leave a list of your preferred sites.
    4. EVENT DAY REGISTRATION ‐ Saturday, DEC 3, at 7AM.  Those registering on Saturday will be assigned sites.  These carvers will not be given additional time if delayed by the setting of their ice, which will be completed as quickly as possible, on a first come basis.
  2. CARVING: Saturday, DEC 3, 8AM to 11PM and Sunday DEC 4, 9AM to 8PM
  3. Carvers with assigned sites will not be given additional time if delayed by the setting of their ice, which will be completed as quickly as possible, on a first come basis.
  4. The ice carvings must have a Christmas theme
  5. Each carver will be given approximately 35 cubic feet of ice.  The proposed block size is 5’x7’x1’ but will depend on the ice thickness at the time of harvest. Note: ice has been as thick as 21” in the past
  6. You will have ½ hour to clean-up the area, remove your tools, and light your sculpture.
  7. You will be provided with three white lights
  8. Judging will begin at 8:30PM
  9. Stanchions will be provided after judging

COMPETITION AWARDS
First place - $2500
Second place - $1500
Third place - $1000
Fourth place -$750
Fifth place - $500
*People’s Choice - $500

*Votes will be taken at the park (one per adult customer) Monday, DEC 5 -  Sunday, DEC 11, 5PM
